Ancient Ruins
The Incas had a vast empire that reached 772,204 sq. mi. by 1527. Since the Spanish conquered these people there have been cities ruined and forgotten in the mountains. Archaeologists and excavators are constantly finding new artifacts, and if they are lucky entire cities. Some of the important Inca sites are Choquequirao, Cusco, Llactapata, Machu Picchu, Moray, Ollantaytambo, Písac, Pukara de la Compañia, Sacsayhuaman, Vilcabamba, and Vitcos. The number of cities and artifacts shows that the Inca were advanced enough in their building skills that their structures still stand today. These people were genuinely progressive in all they did.
